Aussiedoodle Description
The Aussiedoodle is a hybrid dog that is a cross between the Austrailian Shepherd and a Poodle. Aussiedoodles have strong personalities and are extremely friendly towards all people and pets, which make them perfect family dogs but horrible guard dogs.
Most owners claim Aussiedoodles are amung the most intelligent dogs (which is expected since Austrailian Shepherd and Poodles are two highly intelligent dogs) who is constantly learning and strives to please their owners. Aussiedoodles are big family dogs and are more happy spending their time with their family rather than outside with other animals.
Aussiedoodles are hybrid dogs, which means they are bred from two different types of purebred dogs. Hybrid dogs are becoming popular because you can breed dogs with favorable characteristics of one or more other breeds.
The drawback of hybrid dogs is you cannot predict which characteristics your dog may have.
Aussiedoodles are bred using any of the following ways:
Purebred Austrailian Shepherd with Purebred Toy Poodle | Standard Poodle
Aussiedoodle bred with another Aussiedoodle

Aussiedoodle Temperament
Bred from two highly intelligent dogs, Aussiedoodles are extremely intelligent and require daily mental stimulation. Without mental stimulation Aussiedoodles can become bored and will find ellaborate ways to entertain themselves (some of which may be destructive towards your property). Aussiedoodles respond better to positive reinforcement rather than strong discipline. Its recommended that Aussiedoodles be trained as soon as possible because it's so easy for them to teach themselves bad habbits when puppys.
Aussiedoodle Health
Aussiedoodles have a life expectancy of 12-15 years. Because Aussiedoodles are a hybrid breed, long term health issues are not currently known. Generally hybrid dogs are healthier than purebred dogs because cross breeding corrects a lot of negative health traits; however, it is not uncommon for Aussiedoodles to suffer from ear infections. It's also been reported that Aussiedoodles have allergic reations to the heartworm medication Lvermectin.
Maintenance
Grooming Requirements – Since Aussiedoodles are a hybrid dog, they can inherit the coats from either Poodles or Australian Shepherds. Most Aussiedoodles require regular grooming, but some require heavy grooming and regular clipping.
Exercise Requirements – Aussiedoodles have large amount of energy and need a lot of physical exercise. An indoor Aussiedoodle will need to be walked two or more times daily and will require mental stimulation as well.
Living Requirements – Because of their energy requirements it is usually favorable to have a back yard to use to help your Aussiedoodle get rid of his or her energy.
